Qualifications
Must have at least 3 years production experience.
Must have an art background.
Must have a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, texture, and form.
Must have solid conceptual and design skills.
Must be proficient in 3D Studio Max, Maya or Softimage and Photoshop.
Must have traditional illustration skills.
Character animation skills is a bonus
Candidates must have an exceptional, professional level DVD, CD or online demo reel to be considered for an interview.

3D CG production based in Halifax, Nova Scotia seeks a talented and
experienced rigger to join our growing team. Strong working knowledge of
Maya required. Studio environment is fast-paced and committed to
creating high quality animation. Candidates should thrive as part of a
team and take direction well.
Responsibilities Include:
- Rig characters as assigned by Lead Rigger.
- Complete assigned rigging tasks in a timely manner.
- Ensure all working files are efficiently organized.
- Follow Lead Rigger’s directions, ensuring rigs created are accurate
and effective.
Qualifications Include:
- We prefer artists that have 2 or more years of professional experience working with Maya or other professional animation software, though all talented artists are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to rig different styles of characters using deformable and
non-deformable rigging.
- A thorough understanding of constraints and hierarchal constraints.
- A good understanding of forward and inverse kinematics relationships
- Ability to use expressions effetely.
- Knowledge of television production pipeline.
- Capable of working independently as a self-motivated person with time
management skills.
- Ability to set an example for all team members by regularly
demonstrating strong work ethics, quality of work, teamwork, motivation,
and solid leadership.
This opportunity is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia and requires
relocating to this city for the duration of the term.

As a Gameplay Animator, you will work alongside the existing gameplay team to design, mocap, animate and tune motion for a wide variety our games characters. You will work with the team to create characters and move sets, teaming up with an engineer to implement these characters while continuing to learn and refine the fine points of gameplay animation. |

Reporting to the Campus Director, Instructors are accountable for the following:
Cambrian College's Computer Services department has an immediate requirement for an IT Technologist specializing in animation technologies on a two-year term appointment basis.
Reporting to the Manager, Computer Operations, the successful applicant will provide support for the digital technologies of the new Animation program, which starts in September 2009.
The Technologist will provide a high level of technical advice, guidance and support for the Animation program environment; will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of the equipment and software; will provide direct support for professors and students; will assist in coordinating part-time staff and students supporting the environment; and will participate in special project activities.
