Technical Director

Redrover Creative is currently looking for a technical director for a 3D animated 26X22 minute television series.

Description:
- Consult and communicate with Producer and Director on all technical issues
- Identify potential issues during the entire length of production from Pre to Post, and participate in problem solving and creating a technical pipeline
- Work to solve high-level technical production issues
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the tools and software used in the production
- Work with IT to build and maintain a suitable asset manager

Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with 3D animation and 3D software platforms including but not limited to Maya and 3DMax
- Previous experience developing and maintaining an asset managing program
- Ability to work well and problem solve within a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to trouble shoot

Animation Supervisor

Redrover Creative is currently looking for an Animation Supervisor to oversee animation in Korea for a 3D animated 26X22 minute television series.

Description:
- Manage animation team overseas – including assigning shots, ensuring quotas and deadlines are met and the Director’s vision is adhered to
- Ensure that the quality of animation meets standards set out by the Directors
- Liase and consult with supervisors of the other departments to discuss workflow and issues that arise
- Assign work to animators keeping in mind specific strengths and weaknesses
- Direct and instruct animators on character performance and timing
- Ensure continuity across the entire show
- Reporting directly to the producers and directors in Canada

Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in character animation preferably in 3D
- Strong understanding of animation timing, acting and storytelling techniques
- Working knowledge of 3D Max
- Demonstrated success at meeting tight deadlines
- Planning and Management skills
- Clear communication style, both written and verbal
- Ability to motivate animation team at all times
- Knowledge of the Korean language is an asset but not a requirement

Starz Animation, Toronto, multiple positions


Starz is doing a bit of hiring.

Currently we have an opening for a top-end Rigger. The ideal candidate must have CG feature experience, be a maya pro and have management/lead experience.

Starz has an opening for a senior TD also. Surfacing and Lighting are to two skillsets or familiar zones this TD must know the best. He/She must also have some skills writing shaders.

There is also a position open for a top admin person to assist a Producer and Associate Producer. This is someone who is an organizational wiz, an everready bunny of energy and positivity, and used to being in an ever-changing production environment.
